Dimitar Popov - BULGARIAN NATIONAL SOCCER TEAM GOAL-KEEPER

Levski's youngster, playing as a goalkeeper, made his debut for the Blues in 1988. In 1992 he transferred to Botev Plovdiv. In the fall of 1994 he played in Spartak Plovdiv and since the beginning of 1995 he transferred to CSKA. He played for the army until the end of 1996 when he signed with Maritsa Plovdiv. He then played one season at Lokomotiv Sofia from 1997 to 1998, in the period 1998/2000 in Spartak Varna, and during the 2000/01 season in the American El Paso. Winner of the country cup in 1990/91 with Levski, vice-champion in 1988/89 and 1991/92, bronze medalist with Botev in 1992/93 and 1993/94. In the Euro tournaments he has played 4 matches (1 for Levski in KNK and 2 for Botev and 1 for Levski in UEFA).

14-national team of Bulgaria, bronze medalist at the 1994 FIFA World Cup.
