Futsal – Essence and Features of the Game

Futsal is a variation of football played on a smaller pitch with a smaller ball and small goals. Developed in Uruguay in the 1930s, initially known as mini-football, it began gaining popularity under the name "futsal" after 2000. It is played indoors by two teams of five players and requires high technical and tactical skills. Its main features are fast-paced play, a focus on dribbling and passing accuracy, and strict rules for fouls. Futsal is important for the development of football players and is popular both professionally and among amateurs.
